Fallen power cable closes A49 in Shropshire
A fallen power cable caused the closure of the A49 in Shropshire today.
It happened near Hadnall, and police put traffic management procedures in place, with a diversion set up along the A53 to the A41. The road was also closed from Shawbury crossroads.
A group of engineers from Scottish Power arrived at the scene at around 14.45pm.
The problem was reported to have been fixed but engineers were carrying out tests to ensure the site was safe before the road was reopened.
