Cones were placed around the scene of the crash while a blanket of snow was seen on the road surface.

Gritters have been out across the region but steady snow throughout Sunday made for dangerous conditions across the road network.

Many roads were left completely covered in snow, prompting emergency services to warn people against travelling unless absolutely necessary.
