Overrunning roadworks caused chaos on the A483 between Wrexham and Chester and drivers were warned to expect delays.

A local diversion route was set up as the A483 was closed between the A55 (Cheshire) and A5156 (Wrexham).

The National Highways traffic information service was reporting congestion northbound between the junctions with the A5156 and the A55.

But National Highways said that a return to normal traffic conditions are expected between 9am and 9:15 am on Tuesday.
