Back in the 1950s the BBC screened a captivating series of documentaries based on newsreels from Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897 to the end of the Second World War in 1945. The series was Time to Remember and it's currently getting a re-screening on Talking Pictures TV. The hard work and raw courage captured in some of this footage is humbling. It is a privilege to watch and you can't help wondering if anyone today is compiling images of life in 2023 for the benefit of viewers in 2123.
