I consulted some of our old photo albums and found back then I was mostly wearing jeans, crew-neck jumper, jacket and desert boots. Same as today.
Mind you there is something I possessed back then that I no longer have. A 28-inch waist.
I recently mentioned the impossibility of flying a kite in the dead-calm or violent gales we've had since Christmas.
But in a moderate spell at the weekend, I demonstrated the art of kite flying to our grandson who turned five this week. After about ten seconds the main spar fell out and the string snapped.
