Comment: We need to grow talent
South Korea is one of the most successful economies in the world and around 80 per cent go to university.

We need more graduates. We just need them to do science and maths and engineering more, and less of the artistic courses.
But even if you do work in a call centre or on an assembly line, a degree is worth having because, as we have free movement of labour, UK graduates can go and earn megabucks in the oilfields of Norway or the autoplants of the Rhine.
Skilled jobs are the way forward; we cannot compete on low wage work, we need to churn out talent and out-think the other economies of the world with brains.
