Letter: Help save the horses
Once again the Grand National is due to take place with the prospect of more equine fatalities. And for what? So that people can go and have a fun day out and possibly win some money.

A kinder, cruelty-free alternative would be to donate the money that would have been used to bet on one of these poor horses, to a horse sanctuary, such as Hillside Animal Sanctuary or Hope Pastures, both of which rescue ex-race horses that would have been sent for slaughter for dog or human consumption.
Come on people, do the compassionate and humane thing!
