Letter: Poor are hit the hardest
Poverty is rising fast in this country and fuel poverty is rising faster.

How many people this winter have died through cold because they cannot afford to heat their homes?
The changes to welfare came in on April 1, the experts and charities all say that the poor, disabled, and OAPs will be hit the hardest, yet, on the same day, the rich will benefit by thousands of pounds.
The Government will of course come out with all the answers but they will not tell the real truth.
MPs have their expenses and good wages, some have mansions but they will not share their spare rooms like council tenants being forced to do so. Is it a fair society? Only for the few.
