Letter: Alex Salmond was right to celebrate with Scottish flag

Why on earth are people complaining at Alex Salmond waving the Scottish flag to celebrate Andy Murray's Wimbledon win?

David Cameron and Alex Salmond celebrate as Andy Murray plays in the Wimbledon final

Salmond, like Murray, is a proud Scot. To the best of my knowledge the Wimbledon tournament is organised by and staged at "The all England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club", and is nothing to do with being the 'British tennis tournament', if such a thing exists.

I see no difference in Salmond waving his flag than any other national. The furore is merely because of Salmond's politics.

Great Britain is a wonderful place to live, but contrary to a lot of people's opinion and what some teachers tried to tell me at school, the other three home nations are not part of England and there is no reason that they should ever want to be.

Celebrate the difference.
