Letter: Disgust at badger cull
It's detestable that David Cameron and Shropshire MP Owen Paterson are hell bent in their support of the badger cull.
As the Badger Trust has recently commented, the reliability of the test is highly questionable because an increasing number of bovines who have repeatedly tested negative have, when killed, been found to have in fact had the disease.
In addition, an animal who tests positive for the disease may in fact have acquired immunity to it but will nevertheless be killed.
The veterinary profession is making big bucks from all of this and it is in their interest to blame our badger family, in the full knowledge that killing thousands of them will not solve the problem and, for them, the gravy train will continue.
