Letter: Medics gave great care
During the early evening of February 4 my wife hadto ring 999 for an ambulance for me due to me going into a "fit".
I am a diabetic and this is the first time that I had experienced going into a "hypo" and my wife thought I was experiencing a stroke. I was completely unaware of what was happening to me.
The telephone operator of 999 ambulance service was brilliant to my wife, calming, informative and reassuring.
The "fast response" paramedic from Ludlow arrived very quickly as did the ambulance.
On arrival at Shrewsbury A&E I had to wait to be seen by a doctor, as they were very busy, but this wait was no more than 8-10 minutes. The A&E nurses and the specialist duty doctor, a Dr Richard Pearson, were all brilliant in caring for me.
Following first class medical care I was released home during the early hours of Thursday morning.
I cannot praise enough all the emergency care that I was given.
I would like to say a "big thank you" to everyone who looked after me. I cannot praise them enough.
