Letter: More hard times loom

It looks like the three main parties are offering a new harsh austerity Britain. Sorry, UK, as it's now called despite Wales and Scotland pulling away to do their own thing, if Nicola Sturgeon and Plaid Cymru succeed in their aims.

Blood, sweat and tears, cutbacks against the poor, sick and unemployed, young and old, noses to the grindstone, harder working families for less wages, no pleasure, more taxes, and for what?

To give more money to the greedy corrupt EU and overseas aid to countries that already own most of our most successful industries.

It's 70 years now since the war ended but you would think it was yesterday to hear of the raft of new austerity the tired and failed politicians propose to bring in after May.

They won't tell us where the money has gone, why we are in dire straits, or who is responsible for the mess.

All we hear are evasive answers, weasel words, and promises yet again of a New Jerusalem somewhere in a fast receding future that even our grandchildren may never see.
