Letter: Two A&Es are needed in Shropshire

May I draw readers' attention to the debate regarding the A&E department.

Yes, ideally there should be two A&E departments, not least to prevent ambulances queuing up outside, and I believe if the Labour Party had remained in power that is what would have happened, as the then minister for health, Andy Burnham said we needed two.

However, I should like to remind the people of Telford that the good folk of Oswestry in their generosity, gave up their cottage hospital in order for Telford to have a hospital.

Wouldn't it be lovely if they could show the same generosity of spirit and agree to let the A&E in Shrewsbury remain so, giving us rural folk some semblance of security health wise.
