Letter: Telford & Wrekin Council first class
Now that the dust has settled and the Conservative MPs Daniel Kawczynski and Owen Paterson have been slapped down by central government on the disbandment of Telford & Wrekin Council I suggest they look at the record of the council under Labour.
They have won umpteen awards for their services, including the independently audited best council in England a number of times but still have the second lowest council tax in the Midlands.
The only period that they fell below that standard was under Conservative control 2008 to 2011.
I do not wish to point score over Shropshire Council in any way but Telford has better services at a lower cost and that is just how we like it. We are lucky to have a high achieving council for which we are proud, so hands off, and well done T&W Council.
