No wonder Brussels is at odds with May stance
For decades, British politicians have reached Europe-wide common agreements with their counterparts from the other 27 EU member nations, in closed sessions – aka in secret.

But they did not achieve those outcomes by applying the English arrogance of telling those 27 EU Ministers that they will do what the British one tells them to do.
What the British Ministers did do, almost to a man or to a women, on return to the UK, was announce loudly to us Brits “Look what Brussels has made me do”.
And now they wonder why “Brussels” is expressing a difference of opinion with the one-women band (as clearly indicated by Theresa May’s battle cry – “Me, me, me”), with whom they will be negotiating.
