Maternity cuts will not benefit the women of Shropshire
With reference to the recommendations to Telford and Wrekin CCG about the reorganisation of maternity provision in Shropshire – How can a reduction in facilities be beneficial to women due to give birth?
Published
Are they really expecting women to travel to Telford or Shrewsbury, along difficult, often poorly-maintained roads, across Shropshire whilst in labour?
I can see a number of places of birth being listed as driveways or possibly the nearest layby.
The letters and reports I have read on this subject have massively supported local facilities, not their closure.
This seems to be a very short-sighted, money-led decision – not in the interests of the women of Shropshire.
