Why charge so much for hospital parking?

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who work on the Bickerstaff Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital, we have had many appointments there over the last three years and everyone working there have been very helpful, professional and always treated us with courtesy and kindness.

At this time we often hear negative comments about the NHS, but I can honestly say how well we have been treated with every visit and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

One thing though I find disgusting is that all the staff, not only at the PRH but the RSH as well, have to pay for parking. Recently we had to pay £4 for two hours parking which I find appalling, but can understand, as visitors or patients there has to be a charge - but why so much?

Staff I think should be able to have free parking always, as these are the people we all rely on to keep the hospitals going.

Maybe if we charged the time wasters who abuse the system the rest of us wouldn’t have to pay quite so much.
