Expert advice? If only it were true

Chris Grayling is HM Government’s minister for transport. As such, he is the man to go to for information on the government’s essential plans to on continue smooth transportation post-Brexit.

He was asked that question by an experienced manager of HGV transport of goods from Britain into the EU, who explained that, if the information was not available very soon, there will be no time to left put plans in place to deal with post-Brexit reality.

In response, Mr Grayling asked what the required information was? He received a one word answer… “clarity”… a word which Mr Grayling was unable to understand.

A fellow minister, Michel Gove, is famous for stating “I think people in this country have had enough of experts”, a conviction on which his fellow Brexiters were quick to back him up.

In reaching its decisions, the NHS involves people they consider to be experts by experience, in physical and/or mental illness. Experiencing the reality of a procedure is an enlightening process, something which very few politicians face before deciding what is best for us plebs… whether for our health, defence, policing, security, education, etc.

In short, we are governed, locally and nationally, by people who hate “experts”, and yet act as if they are “experts” in everything. Surprise, surprise.
