GET THE SHREWSBURY RING ROAD BUILT NOW
It has become increasingly obvious that traffic congestion and pollution has become much worse over the last few years, and is becoming critical. Most local people are aware of this situation, and the silent majority approve of the so-called 'North West Relief Road.'
The local business chamber first mooted the road around 20 years ago. However, our new MP is amazingly against the idea, and even backed the ridiculous Darwin Oak petition!
Many of Shrewsbury's factories have closed their doors, losing around 20,000 production workers. Some of these switched to making munitions in 1940, helping to win the war. No new manufacturing companies are attracted to Shrewsbury, no doubt put off by our traffic problems. This will be much worse with thousands of new homes planned to the east of the town, including Roden.
The new road would offer many other opportunities, including moving emergency services, as they become outdated and difficult to access.
