No rain on parade for singer Duffy

Welsh singer Duffy gave a stylish and sexy performance at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall to a packed crowd, writes Shaun Lintern.

The blonde bombshell delivered a brilliant show on Thursday night wearing a stunning black dress with red belt which appealed to the male members of the audience.nextpage

At one point the 24-year-old songwriter had to urge her admirers to "behave" as they called out to her between tracks.nextpage

Throughout the show it was clear her fans were filled with excitement at being able to get so close to that unique voice which was in fine form in the city last night.nextpage

Despite some problems with the sound, which seemed to muffle the clarity of her voice, Duffy's singing power was evident as she performed hits such as Rain on Your Parade as well as Mercy and other tracks from her debut album Rockferry.nextpage

Throughout, Duffy was clearly enjoying herself and was no doubt still flying high after news emerged yesterday that she has three nominations at this year's Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.nextpage

She danced her way through the performance which was very well received. The performance was seamless and Duffy undoubtedly secured herself a legion of fans for what will certainly be a long career.
