County duo in golfing exit
Shropshire & Herefordshire's two big hopes in the British Amateur Golf Championships have crashed out ahead of the prestigious matchplay stages.

Church Stretton's Jonathan Gidney and Mark Trow of Llanymynech both posted over-par scores in the second round at Royal Lytham & St Annes yesterday.
Gidney shot a 74 to add to his opening 68 for a combined 143 that left him tied in 85th place.
The top 64 qualified for the matchplay phase.
