Ludlow's Oliver Farr claims first victory of Pro Tour campaign
Shropshire's Oliver Farr registered his first win of the Euro Pro Tour season after a dramatic play-off victory in the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters.
Ludlow's Farr claimed £10,000, a brand new Motocaddy trolley and moved up to third on the Euro Pro Tour Order of Merit at Montrose Golf Links.
The 25-year-old finally saw off Daniel Gavins on the third play-off hole to sign for the third and final round on 71, level par, to finish the tournament five under.
That was despite finishing with a bogey on the 16th and a double on the 17th, squandering a three-stroke lead to find himself in the play-off.
Yorkshireman Gavins shot a 68, three-under-par, on the final day to tie for the lead and earn his place in the sudden death play-off.
Now, with two events to play, Farr is strongly-placed to finish the season in the top five, an achievement rewarded with a 2014 Challenge Tour Card.
He said: "It was very much a roller-coaster. It was quite a tough finish. The wind was coming into us and I hit a couple of bad shots.
"I focused on making par and getting in the play-off.
"That's because I knew I wasn't in a great frame of mind going into the last hole.
"I recovered well and had a good two-putt."
