Salver glory for Bridgnorth golf duo

Bridgnorth Golf Club's Tom Alford and Jack Johnson claimed the Jeffrey Clee Salver at Ludlow Golf Club.

The duo finished ahead of 65 other pairs in Saturday's annual 36-hole foursomes competition with a winning score of 138.

Dominic Bagnall and Harry Burt, from Horsehay Village and Wrekin Golf Clubs respectively, came second with 140 while Barry Ruddick, from Shrewsbury, and Nigel Chesters, from Hawkstone Park, were third with 145.

The prize for the highest nett score went to Ludlow's NH Griffiths and Richard Rodgers who won the competition on countback with a score of 140.
