The 14-year-old was initially chosen for the England Under-16 side along with six other promising teenagers.

They took on their Swiss counterparts in a friendly match held at Heswell Golf Club in Cheshire on August 19.

And Price, a Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club member, put in a sensational display winning a foursomes match in the morning and going on to triumph in a singles contest.

The Lacon Childe School pupil, who is the English Girls Open champion, took on the Swiss Open champion and claimed a 7 & 6 victory in a round containing four birdies.

But the success didn't end there, after Price was picked for the England Under-18 Schools side which took on Wales on Monday.

Again the talented youngster won both her games winning the singles match 2&1 and the foursomes 3&2.

Price said: "I've had an amazing couple of weeks. This was the first time I have ever represented England and it was such a huge honour.

"Against Switzerland I played really well and I was really pleased with the result. I was a bit nervous at the start because I was conscious I had to do well for the team.

"But it was a great experience for me and I loved the way match play golf makes it a battle between two people."

Following her success in Cheshire, Price headed to Conwy Golf Club as part of the England Under-18 Schools side which saw her win the final point, as they who won 9.5 to 8.5.

She said: "The Wales match was actually for a trophy so there was a bit more pressure. I won the foursomes with Hannah Screen 3 & 2 but I didn't start well in the singles.

"I was three down by the ninth, but said to one of the England coaches on the 10th tee 'I'll turn this around now' and managed to win 2 & 1."

With the season almost over she says she is already looking forward to next year.

She said: "I've got the Birkdale Scratch Open then the season's over. It will be March-April when I start up again and I cannot wait."
