The 18-year-old from Bridgnorth, who has been named in England's Under-20s squad, broke his fibula in training when someone fell on his leg and is out for eight to 10 weeks.

He had been due to play for the Barbarians against the Combined Services at Bath last night.

But despite the blow the Worcester Warriors lock is aiming to join England's 32-man squad in the new year.

"Hopefully I should be back in action for the Six Nations in February – that's my aim," said Taylor.

"I've been for scans and they reckon I'll be out for eight to 10 weeks.

"I'm in a protective boot which I've got to wear for the next four weeks and then I can start rehab work.

"Then hopefully I'll be able to play for Worcester seconds."

"At first I was gutted but I've got my head around it now and I'm just concentrating on coming back stronger and better.

"If I don't make the Under-20s World Cup this year then hopefully I will next year because I've got another 12 months in this age group."
