Former Hereford man McDonald was left with a suspected broken nose from last weekend's 3-1 home defeat to Woking.
Coach Andy Pryce said: "We know a player who played against us with a mask and we're trying to contact him to find out where he got it made.
We've only got a small squad so it's tough on the squad if we get injuries."
Midfielder Jack Rayis hoping to have his knee assessed, Pryce added: "We're trying to get in touch with the surgeon who operated on him a few years ago to look at him again. His knee is too swollen at the moment to have an MRI scan."
