A last-gasp goal in extra-time from substitute Josh Agbozo gave Shrewsbury Town victory over AFC Telford United in the FA Youth Cup.

Town had the better of the match but they were pushed all the way at the Greenhous Meadow.

The visitors started on the front foot and good early work down the right hand side from Ryan McLean saw Town goalkeeper Leon Reece have to be smart off his line to collect.

At the other end, Cricky Gallagher put in a good left-sided cross and Calum Grogan forced a decent save from goalkeeper Mitchell Willdigg.

Callum Roberts drove forward for the hosts and his low strike from outside of the area hit the Telford post, as Shrewsbury went close to breaking the deadlock.

Nathan Millis was inches away from getting on the end of a Jack Butts delivery as Shrewsbury turned up the pressure.

Telford seriously threatened the Town goal for the first time, as Lewis Jarman's effort flew straight into Reece's midriff.

But, with just over 10 minutes to go before the break, Ethan Jones gave the hosts the lead.

He collected Millis' ball from the left, kept his composure to go around Willdigg and slotted into the empty net.

Jones was then superbly denied by a Neon Manu clearance on the line, as Shrewsbury went in search of a second.

It was Shrewsbury who had the first opportunity of the second period, when Grogan's header from a Gallagher corner was well saved.

Roberts was denied by Willdigg and Millis curled a free-kick over, as the hosts continued to press.

George Hassall could have given Shrews some breathing space, but he was denied when through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

And they were made to pay 14 minutes from time, when Ben Osei scrambled home a Reis Mahey cross.

In the 103rd minute, Shrewsbury substitute Joe Kenton had a long-range effort that was pushed behind.

But is was his fellow replacement Agbozo who booked a second-round place, with a looping header a minute from the end of extra-time.
