Work-mates revved up for action
Sport loving staff at an award winning Shrewsbury-based caravan dealership have formed a motocross team to compete in local events.

Experienced motocross rider Dale Childs teamed up with work-mates Josh Roberts, Tom Hancock and Dan Taylor for a Wem Motocross Club meeting at Shawbury. They all work in the touring caravan after sales workshops at Salop Leisure's headquarters at Emstrey, Shrewsbury.
Childs competes in the veterans class while the other three race in the novice class, with Taylor making a promising competition debut at Shawbury.
Salop Leisure's chairman Tony Bywater encourages staff to get involved in sport and exercise to stay fit and healthy. The company has football, cricket and rafting teams and members of staff run together regularly and have taken part in marathons and half marathons.
In addition, the company pays for all staff to be members of Rowton Castle Fitness Club, near Shrewsbury and organises pilates classes.
"I believe that fitness and healthy living play a major part in the success of the business," said Bywater. "Because we are a small, family-focused business we genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of our employees and encourage them to remain fit and active. There are massive personal benefits associated with fitness and good health."
