Manager Rob Smith, who has also agreed a deal with Jack Deaman, is banking on landing the Molineux 20-year-old on loan.

Smith hopes to bring in the powerful right-winger in time for the re-arranged visit of the Pitmen.

The Bucks boss said: "We're very hopeful of getting someone in on loan for tonight.

"It's someone from Wolves and I would expect something to go through in terms of an attacking player. There's a good chance of that happening."

Smith wants to keep the target's identity under wraps until the paperwork has gone through, which is expected to be lunchtime.

But it's understood that Eusebio is the man and the deal will be done in time.

The Bissau-Guinean went through the youth system at Portuguese giants Benfica before switching to Molineux.

Smith still hopes for another signing after being reduced to 13 fit players for this evening's crunch derby.

Deaman's Cheltenham contract is up this summer and he is understood to be free to leave. He is set to become a Telford player – but not in time for tonight.

Smith said: "We've agreed a deal with Jack from our end, but he still has loose ends to tie up with Cheltenham.

Jordan Wynter has returned to the Robins after his loan expired, while Dave Hibbert (hamstring) and Kyle Brownhill (ankle) are still out.

Smith said: "Jordan's gone back and is injured anyway but it's something we might explore in the future. We're very short of numbers – we're down to 13 fit players."

Meanwhile, Smith joined the Bucks board in urging fans to back the team.

He said: "They can make this place like a fortress. Their backing can change so much, such as extra decisions go your way."
