Poole booked her ticket for the July event after winning a highly competitive SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Arena UK.

A bumper field of 81 combinations took part in the event in Grantham, Lincolnshire and it was Shrewsbury star Poole who emerged victorious at the end of a bumper 28-horse jump off.

All of the competitors were focused on picking up one of the two qualifying tickets up for grabs for the Championship and the jump off proved to be well fought with six double clears achieved overall.

Poole, who was on board Quality, a six-year-old bay owned by Michelle Poole, delivered one of the double clears and she did so in 35.16 seconds.

That time gave teenager Poole, an age group international for England, and Quality more than a second in hand over their nearest rivals.

The second qualification ticket was taken by Beth Vernon from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire after she secured a double clear in 36.28 seconds on board Moneybroom Dancer.
