Now the 15-year-old, who fights for Merridale Boxing Club in Wolverhampton, hits the road again with a trip to Ireland.

Coach Khalid Hussain said: "The way Simran is developing is exceptional and she's getting better all of the time.

"She's already a part of England Boxing's talent programme and we hope she'll box for her country at the female European Junior Championships in September."

Kaur will be looking to claim the top prize at the Monkstown Box Cup for the second year running, with a number of Merridale cohorts also involved.

Hussain is also taking Kara Murray and Raheem Mohammed to compete and they won silver themselves at last year's event. Husan Hussain joins them and all are from the Telford area.

Mohammed will be looking to get back on track after falling at the first hurdle on a split points decision to Clark Smith, from Timperley, in Hull.

Kaur boxed a straight final through the luck of the draw with her, Team GB champion Savannah Stubley and three-time Irish titlist Ciara O'Brien also entered at 46kg in the born 2001 division.

O'Brien defeated Stubley on a split on the Friday night and then stepped through the ropes for the decider on Sunday afternoon.

The Irish southpaw came at her from the opening bell, but Kaur used her height advantage to keep the right jab into her face and snap into back hands.

The fight became scrappy in the third and last round - with each session lasting one and a half minutes - as O'Brien chased the result up to the death.

But it was Kaur who remains undefeated and is now into double figures on a split, with three stoppages on her unpaid record.
