The 19-year-old from Wrekin Golf Club finished third in the first stage of qualifying school after two days of action at Formby Hall in Liverpool.

Thirty-eight golfers from Fornby progressed to the final stage of PGA EuroPro Tour qualifying where they will be joined by qualifiers from five other courses.

Enefer, who turned professional last year, had led at the halfway stage after carding an impressive four under. His second round was two over to leave him two under overall.

The remaining 178 players will be joined by the already exempt 62 players to make a total field of 240 who will play two further rounds next Wednesday and Thursday.

The leading 80 players will play a final round next Friday at Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxfordshire.
