Wolves were beaten by a last minute winner from the Tractor Boys - and following the game Cunha was involved with an incident involving a member of the visiting staff.

TV footage shows Cunha in an altercation with the staff member, before appearing to remove his glasses from his face.

It was expected the forward would be sanctioned by the FA, and now it has been confirmed he has been charged.

In a statement, the FA said: "Matheus Cunha has been charged with misconduct following the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town on Saturday December 14.

"The forward allegedly acted in an improper manner after the final whistle. He has until Thursday December 19, to prove a response."

In a separate incident, Rayan Ait-Nouri had to be forcibly removed from the field and down the tunnel by Craig Dawson after the final whistle, and was subsequently sent off.

Following the game and the aftermath, boss Gary O'Neil insisted he would 'heavily punish' his players if they stepped out of line.

However, less than 24 hours later O'Neil was sacked with Wolves sitting 19th in the table.

In his latest column for the Express & Star this week, Dave Edwards stated that the scenes at the end of the game were 'totally unacceptable', and that ill-discipline both on and off the field had cost O'Neil his job.
