Reports emerged earlier today that Premier League high-flyers Nottingham Forest had joined Arsenal in the chase for the 25-year-old.

However, the Express & Star understands no offers have been made and no contact received about Cunha.

Talks between the 10-goal forward and Wolves over a new contract remain ongoing, with Molineux chiefs remaining relaxed about the situation.

It is believed any potential bid from the City Ground for Cunha is likely to fall well below Wolves' valuation for Cunha, despite reports the East Midlands club reportedly prepared to make a club record bid for the Brazilian.

Cunha's deal at Molineux is due to run until 2027, but the club remain firm that he will not be sold this month.

New contract discussions remain under way and sources say they are based on rewarding the forward for his form and contribution to the team so far this season.

It had been claimed former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo had made Cunha his top target in the January window at the City Ground.

Their current club record purchase was the £35million paid to Newcastle for Elliot Anderson last summer.

However, Wolves value Cunha well in excess of £60m and it is thought any Forest bid may be some way below that figure.
