Jorgen Strand Larsen will miss the game due to a hamstring injury and is likely to be sidelined for up to three weeks.
With no natural replacement for the striker, Pereira could be tempted to change his style against Villa, but the head coach is adamant he will not make a switch as Villa come to Molineux.
"No, I cannot change my system," Pereira said.
"If we build a system or style of play around one player, it would be a disaster for us.
"We must improve our qualities, our dynamic in our game model.
"When we have an injury we can play with a different striker with different qualities, different connections with the other players and different movements, but still doing the same."
This will be Pereira's first taste of the West Midlands derby but the Portuguese boss has experienced big derbies in the past in his career, such as the Turkish clash between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.
