'I want to be a real presence' - Vadaine Oliver completes Shrewsbury loan move
Shrewsbury Town have completed the loan signing of Bradford City striker Vadaine Oliver with the forward targeting an immediate impact in Shropshire.
Salop welcome the 33-year-old from the League Two play-off hopefuls - on a deal which will keep him at the Croud Meadow for the remainder of the campaign.
Oliver, who has played for a variety of EFL clubs including Gillingham, Morecambe and Stevenage, joins Gareth Ainsworth's side who are seeking to get out of their current plight, which sees them second from bottom in the League One standings.
The experienced man has made close to 500 professional appearances throughout his playing career and he becomes the fourth new recruit to arrive in Shropshire this month after Callum Stewart, Dominic Gape and Ricardo Dinanga.
Speaking in his first interview as a Salop player, Oliver said there is already a great 'togetherness' in the squad, and they have enough to stay in the division.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead," he said. "I had a conversation with Micky Moore, who I know really well.
"The vision the club has, I want to be a part of that. I want to help change the course of the club.
"They had a great win at the weekend. You can see there is a really strong togetherness in the squad.
"And when I spoke to Gareth, he told me all the lads believe we can do this (stay up). It was that fight which attracted me.
"I want to come here, be vocal and be a real presence up top. I want to add goals, assist others and bring others into play.
"My aim is to get us out of the situation we are in. We want to stay in this league and we are good enough to do it."
