Since the head coach was appointed back in November, Town have been chipping away at the deficit to 20th-place - it was as wide as 10 points at one stage.

But after back-to-back League One victories, for the first time in two years, they head into the match against Reading on Tuesday night just four points from safety - quite the turnaround.

The boss has made gradual progress with his Salop side. Firstly, he stopped them from leaking so many goals.

Then he got them winning games at the Croud Meadow, and on Saturday, he ticked off the final thing on his bingo card - an away victory.

Tonight, they are back in action as they take on Noel Hunt's Reading. This fixture was originally scheduled in November but was cancelled due to international call-ups within the home team's ranks.
