A positive few weeks for the head coach's team came to an end on Saturday as they were beaten 3-2 by Bolton Wanderers at the Croud Meadow - their first home loss for two months.
For a brief moment at the weekend, when Town led and Peterborough were losing at Stevenage, Shrewsbury were level on points with 20th-placed Posh.
But Bolton, inspired by Eoin Toal and a brace from John McAtee, came from behind to score three second-half goals, which meant Salop's three-match unbeaten run came to an end.
"We've scored two goals at home, I'm proud of that," Ainsworth said. "But we just let in too many, and that's the story of earlier in the season.
"Again, I'm going to have to look at things and see how we can be more solid because we do score now.
