After a promising first-half display, which saw Salop lead at the interval thanks to Vadaine Oliver's close-range header 20 minutes in.
Town were on the receiving end of a superb comeback from Schumacher's Bolton side as they scored three goals in 20 second-half minutes to lead 3-1.
And despite Luca Hoole's late consolation deep into stoppage time at the end of the match, Shrews fell to defeat - their first at home for two months.

Speaking ahead of the game against Huddersfield, Ainsworth revealed what the Bolton boss said about his Town team's League One fate this campaign.
"Having a drink with Steven Schumacher after the game, he said you won't go down," the Salop head coach revealed. "He said - not playing like that.
"I just said yes, hopefully we're doing enough. Because that's what I intend to do - keep this team in the league.
"I think we are probably about halfway through the games we had when I arrived now. When you look at the games I had left if we can replicate the first half we're going to have a real chance."
