A disjointed first half was followed by an impressive second, where Cunha scored his 12th Premier League goal of the season as Wolves pushed for an equaliser at Anfield.
But they were unable to find a second, as Wolves were condemned to their 16th top flight loss in 25 games.
Despite that, Cunha is taking the positives from Wolves' second half performance and says the team must believe they can stay up.
"If we start the game like we did in the second half, maybe we would leave with a result," Cunha said.
"We need to learn fast, the Premier League isn't easy.
"If we play more like we did in the second half, I hope we will get more results.

"We need to believe. If we can come here and play like we did against this unbelievable club, and we showed everyone we can beat them in the second half.
