Shrewsbury performed so well against Huddersfield it was hard to know who was chasing promotion and who was seeking survival, says Gareth Ainsworth.

Salop fell to their second consecutive League One defeat in Shropshire on Tuesday night as they were beaten 1-0 by Michael Duff's Terriers side.

After an evenly matched 80 minutes, Josh Koroma's strike nine minutes from time ended up being the difference as Huddersfield took the spoils back to west Yorkshire.

The result means Shrewsbury remain four points away from Peterborough United, who are 20th in the third tier, while Duff's side are fifth.

"The endeavour, the commitment - it deserved more," the Town head coach said, reflecting on the game. "Everyone knows that.

"How we have not had a penalty on Funso Ojo is beyond me. I hope that people see that and they see the slow motion and the video.

"That is given in the Premier League all day. We are not in that we are League One, and we have just played two really huge teams back-to-back.

"Bolton and Huddersfield, and we have taken them both to the wire. We deserved more. I thought we had the better chances in the game.

"They have made theirs count, the one chance. They did not really lay a glove on us in the second half. We did plenty in their box. We just did not have that final touch, that final finish.

"We go again, if we keep playing like that, then undoubtedly, we are going to win games.

"I want to keep the boys positive. Honestly, there are 18 places between the two teams you would not have thought that, if anything you would have thought Shrewsbury were the higher-placed team.

"We have just taken fourth in the league to a real narrow victory. I am proud of that, but I understand we need wins, and I am going to try and get them."
