Jamal Blackman

He got a hand to Burton’s first goal, but there was little he could do to stop it. The same for the second.

Helpless: 6

Luca Hoole

Hoole never lacks effort, but unfortunately, Salop could not get anything going on a really testing day at the Croud Meadow.

Tough: 5

Josh Feeney

He was physical in the first half but will be mightily disappointed Salop conceded from two set plays for the second week running. He will want to dominate more in the air.

Disappointed: 5

Aaron Pierre

The hope was that Pierre’s physicality would be the difference, and that would stop them from conceding from deadballs. He wore the armband but could not stop the goals from going in.

Tough: 5

Mal Benning

He is a popular choice for Ainsworth, but while his delivery from set plays was OK, he got caught out one or two times and did not offer too much of a threat from open play.

Off: 5

Dom Gape

He has been the only shining light in recent weeks, and he was OK again in this clash. He won the ball back and kept it simple.

OK: 6

Taylor Perry

Came back into the starting XI, but it was a tough afternoon for Perry, who struggled to get on the ball and show the quality he is capable of.

Quiet: 5

Harrison Biggins

Kept his place in the heart of Town’s midfield, and he put in plenty of effort. But just like the rest of the Town team, it was a struggle to find any quality going forward.

Struggled: 5

David Wheeler

He did OK on the right side on his return to the team. He put himself about and put in a couple of decent crosses.

Steady: 6

Jordan Shipley

Tough afternoon for Shipley who had one or moments of real promise, but he looked low on confidence at the moment, and a few crosses went badly astray.

Mixed: 5

George Lloyd

Toiled away upfront with very little service. He gets into great positions, but sometimes his final decision lets him down. Took a knock and came off midway through the second period.

Toiled: 5

Substitutes

Funso Ojo 5 (Perry 65), Alex Gilliead 5 (Shipley 65), Callum Stewart 5 (Biggins 65), Vadaine Oliver (Lloyd 70)

Not used: Young, Nurse, M Feeney.
