The Telford outfit enjoyed a 6-2 (157-114) victory over fourth-placed West Brom FSC.

The win proved not enough to keep Georges at the helm, as title rivals King George V powered to an 8-0 win against M&B Cheslyn Hay.

There are just three matches remaining, including two on the road at West Brom and fifth-placed Chadsmoor A.

And George's bowler Ian Gaut knows it is time to perform away from Church Street.

He said: "The last few away matches, we've not done ourselves justice.

"If we're going to win we'll have to be getting three or four winners rather than one or two."

Lewis Scott starred as the MVP with a 21-6 victory while stand-ins Tony Rhodes (21-19) and Spencer Clarke (21-8) also tasted victory.

Castlefields took a vital three points in their bid to survive the drop at high-flying Greville Arms.

Their were wins for Mark Taylor, Rich Goddard and Clay Flattley (MVP).

In Feeder A, Wrockwardine Wood took a step towards a top five finish after taking three points from an away reverse at Moseley CC. Angela Gaut was MVP with a 21-13 win.

The 5-3 defeat was enough to close the gap to Royal Oak, in fifth, to two points. Top five in the division secure prize money, with fifth place winning £150.

Wood's Martin Williams said: "The green played well, given the horrendous weather. We could've had four but in the end taking three was a triple bonus."

Hadley USC fell to a 7-1 defeat in Feeder B at Great Barr, while in Division Two, Sir John Bayley won 6-2 at home to Netherseal.
