Wem USC officially crowned champions at league presentation
Wem USC's return to the top of the pile in Shropshire's biggest league has been formally recognised.

The club were officially crowned champions of division one of the SPS Whitchurch League at its annual presentation dinner at the Civic Centre.
Wem USC and Chester Road dominated the 12-a-side Tuesday night league for many years until the recent rise of Hanmer.
But now the Services have regained the upper hand. And Friday was a double night of celebration for Wem USC as the B team marked their first season in the league by winning division seven while Ruabon's rise continued in their second season by taking division six.
Other divisional title winners were Hadnall A in two, Wrenbury B in three, Nantwich Barony Park in four and Ash B in the fifth division.
League secretary Alison Hine said 165 had booked to attend and declared: "It went very well. Going back to a hot meal certainly seemed to work and it was a fun evening."
County president Phil Scott was the main speaker; his partner Marie Mathews presented the prizes and league sponsors Stubbs, Parkin and South were represented by Simon and Meriel Edge.
Winner of the most wins for men and women awards in each division were: One, Andy Moss (Woore A) and Dawn Gray (Adderley A); Two, Keith Wall (Hodnet A) and Caroline Willetts (Harriers); Three, Ian Foster (Preston Brockhurst) and Joyce Griffiths (Adderley B).
Four, Alex Davies (Malpas B) and Louise Allmark (Prees C); Five, Roy Topham (Hodnet B) and Christine Sayers (Bridgewater C); Six, Bryan Parry (Ruabon) and Linda Heath (Wollerton); Seven, James Dowley (Wem USC B) and Ann Meakin (Cheswardine B).
n The North Shropshire Parks winter series is in danger of a takeover – by Nantwich Park Road bowlers. Two contested the final of round three at Audlem on Sunday, series stalwart Jock Timlett beating clubmate and round two winner Phil Jones 13-8.
The result lifted Timlett to joint top of the early series points table after he had survived a 13-12 semi-final scare against Alan Boulton (Adderley) while Jones was beating Shrewsbury-based Keith Wall 13-9.
"We had 24 entrants with good bowling. And it was nice to have some new faces involved," said organiser Jamie Brookes.
