Fiaz, who represents Wellington Boxing Academy, will take on Otis Treasure from Studio ABC in Birmingham in the under-75 kg ABA Midland Counties final.

The bout will be one of nine finals taking place at the Willenhall Social Club, with winners advancing to the national quarter-finals.

Fiaz, 19, is a three-time Midlands junior champion and has made the semi-finals at junior level for the last three years.

His coach Mo Fiaz admitted that the step up to senior competition can be a difficult one but he added that his boxer had put in all the necessary hours in the gym and was fully prepared.

He said: "It is a big gap because they are fighting men. Otis Treasure is nearly 26 and he is an experienced, strong fighter.

"It is a 50/50 fight but Aroon has been training for three-four months for this competition and it has gone really well."

Fiaz has had some tough sparring in preparation for the bout against former British light-middleweight title challenger Max Maxwell.
