Morris will take on Swindon’s Ryan Martin at Leicester Arena in a bill put on by Cyclone Promotions, the promotional company run by Barry McGuigan’s son Blane.

Both fighters have identical records – eight wins with three stoppages and one defeat – and Morris is hoping for lots of Shropshire support for a clash that will be shown on Channel 5.

“It’s a chance for both of us to shine and put our names out there, so it should match up to be a great 50-50 fight!” said Morris, who lost his Midlands title to Ryan Fields in February.

“I’ve got some allocated tickets to sell so it would be great to get as much support as possible.

“We’ve got a bus going up so transport can be arranged if anyone needs it.” For tickets, costing £30 or £100 for VIP, call Duncan Morris on 07890 844418.

The bill also sees Joe Hughes challenge Anthony Yigit for the European super-lightweight championship, and Swindon power-puncher Luke Watkins puts his Commonwealth cruiserweight title on the line against Mike Stafford.

The undercard features Melton heavyweight Josh Quailey and Jahmaine Smyle, Leicester’s former English super-middleweight champion.
