The Shifnal off-spinner claimed 7-52 from eight overs as Shropshire won by six wickets in their penultimate Unicorns Trophy group game of the season at Oswestry.

His impressive figures meant the 18-year-old broke the record previously held by Whitchurch seamer Dan Bowen, set in May 2010, when he took 6-25 to inspire Shropshire to a five-wicket Trophy victory against Staffordshire at Audley.

Home, who is in his final year at Wrekin College and is member of Northamptonshire’s Academy, has played in all three group games for Shropshire in the Trophy this season.

The best bowling figures by a Minor Counties player in one-day cricket is Paul Bradshaw’s haul of 7-15 for Norfolk against Herefordshire in 2005.

Shropshire conclude their one-day campaign with a trip to Herefordshire this weekend.

They are forced into one change with Shrewsbury’s Olly Westbury unavailable due to his commitments with Worcestershire seconds.
