The six points keeps them at the top of the pile, in a rain-affected match at Gorway.
Chasing the hosts 230-5 in 55 overs, they ended up 37 runs short on 193-7 in 49 overs, after an interruption for rain curtailed their reply by six overs. Ed Foster top scored with 50 for Shrewsbury, while veteran Walsall skipper Paul Wicker bowled effectively to finish with 3-38 to earn his side a valuable 14 points in their battle to stay out of the relegation zone.
In Division Three, Whitchurch and Newport both lost – with north Shropshire side Whitchurch shot out for just 88.
Dan Bowen starred with the ball taking 5-47 as home side Old Elizabethans set a target of 155 all out, but Whitchurch were undone by skipper Hemaka Pathiranage (5-36), while Sam Ellis top scored with 35.
Newport lost by 25 runs at Redditch. Shabir Khan’s 3-34 helped the visitors dismiss their hosts for167, while there were also three run-outs.
While their top-scorer Simon Douglas (80) was at the wicket, Newport remained favourites to chase down the target, but when he was out at 133-7 to Waqas Ali (6-36), Newport collapsed to 142 all out.
