Frankton land Sri Lankan ace
Frankton have added a touch of international class to their ranks by signing Sri Lankan Dilum Sudeera.
The 20-year-old arrives at the Hardwick Park club with decent pedigree having played for his country in last year’s under-19 World Cup.
Captain Thomas Wilkie’s options have been further boosted by the returns of all-rounder Lloyd Phillips and wicketkeeper-batsman Yuri Pugh.
And Wilkie is hoping the additions will help make his side more competitive.
“Lloyd is coming back, he has been living in Leicester, and he is a useful cricketer to have,” said Wilkie. “And Yuri Pugh is also back after playing for Beacon last year.
“We have got Sri Lankan under-19 player Dilum Sudeera coming over as well. He is a left-arm spinner and middle order batsman.
“With the squad we have got now we are hoping to be a lot more competitive in what will be a very competitive league.
“A few years ago you would go to teams and think we will pick up 24 points here.
“But now, every game you’re competing and you really have to pick up the bonus points against the bigger sides.”
