Cyrille Regis and the story behind West Brom legend Brendon Batson's new autobiography
There are a number of things footballers typically do when they finish their playing days.
A lot go into coaching, some may go into broadcasting and many also bring out an autobiography.
For West Brom legend Brendon Batson his journey to releasing his autobiography, The Third Degree, is a little different.
Alongside journalist Chris Lepkowski, Batson has charted his life from growing up in Grenada to arriving in England at the age of nine, and going on to become a hero at The Hawthorns and an icon alongside The Three Degrees.
And Batson has explained how it was the words of one of the trio, the late Cyrille Regis, and 'pestering' from his children and grandchildren that ultimately led to him bringing out the book.
"It started some time ago, my kids were asking if I was going to do a book," explained Batson, who played over 160 times for Albion.
"When Cyrille brought out his book, he said to me that I should bring one out because I had a slightly different story to tell.
